Big Beat Sundays is a celebration of the era when anything went...

Back in the 90s and earlier 00s, Big Beat nights were a headonistic fueled celebration of all kinds of music.

Across the globe DJs mixed Breakbeats with Acid lines, House beats and Hip-Hop. Dub basslines with, well, pretty much anything they fancied.

The general ethos was "If the vibe fits then play it!".

Unlike many other genres, Big Beat didn't follow a specific blueprint, it was all about a vibe and the feel good factor of enjoying yourself.
There were some common themes, but ultimately nothing was set in stone, and there-in lies the beauty of the movement... ask 10 different people what Big Beat is and you will get 10 different answers!
Anything goes and everyone is welcome on the dancefloor, just bring your best smiles.

Here at Big Beat Sundays we embrace the 'anything goes' approach, but aim to keep it authentic to the 90s premise, while utilising the advances in modern production values and studio technologies.

Of course there is no definitive list of the styles that are encapsulated within the Big Beat ethos, but there are a number of artists that were influential in the scene. Whether it's Fatboy Slim, Bentley Rhythm Ace, The Chemical Brothers, Mickey Finn & Aphrodite, Armand Van Helden, The Jungle Brothers, The Prodigy, The Freestylers, Coldcut, Basement Jaxx...the list could literally go on for pages!
